Physics is one of the most fundamentals
of the sciences and interacts strongly with all the other science subjects. The
study of Physics at higher level prepares students for a broad spectrum of exciting
careers ranging from fundamental research, teaching, industrial research and development
to production, atomic and nuclear research centers, defence etc.

Introduction |

The University inherited the valuable tradition of the post-Graduate Department of Physics from Govt. College, Sargodha.
The Department has been strengthened by the inclusion of
new faculty members and
is very proud of its enthusiastic staff members who are expert in different disciplines
of Physics and are committed in providing the best possible education. New papers
and thesis in MSc Physics, under the semester system, are being introduced. At present
Advance Electronics, Solid State Theory and Plasma Physics are being taught as Elective
Subjects in M.Sc Physics, whereas Particle Physics is being included from the forthcoming
session. We are proud of the research that is taking place in the Department and
planning to initiate and promote research at Post-graduate and PhD levels to meet the ever growing needs in the field of modern sciences. Soon after the inception
of University, the number
of Seats was enhanced to 55 to facilitate more and more
students. The Labs already available are being modernized and equipped with the
latest and sophisticated instruments and apparatus to provide maximum research facilities
to the young scholars with the aim to produce the scientists with a highly rational
approach. Electronics lab in our department which will play its integral role in
producing the premium quality and highly professional scientists in the country
in near future. The establishment of Plasma Physics Lab under the project funded
by HEC is underway. The need for continuous induction of novel ideas and latest
technological skills prompts us to update our curriculum to meet the challenges
of 21st century. |
